Summer of 2012

MISS ME MUCH?!

(I ownself reply to my question: Of course you do...)

Soooo, I have 13 more days before I leave *insert dramatic whyyyyyy* Let's see what I've been up to for the past 79 days of my life.

#1 The norms... Eat, sleep, eat and sleep again

#2 Spent hours pouring over IKEA magazines. I love furniture can? (also to get some inspiration for my future home hahahaha... See I think ahead)

#3 Spent another 37 hours building a castle in the air in Sims 3. It brings out the architect (and interior designer) in me so please don't say it's a lame game. Thankyouverymuch.

#4 Was mistaken for a Korean hiak hiak hiak

#5 Broke my promise to not shop in Malaysia but then everything is in ringgit so you can't blame me for breaking that promise. I won't shop when I go back to the UK ok

#6 I itchy fingers cut my own hair which turned out to be a disaster but it has grown now so everything is fine

#7 Babysat my niece

#8 Ffk-ed a private hospital about a job since they weren't gonna pay me (also because I'm gwai - my dad discouraged me from working since I'm gonna start working FOR LIFE, unless I become a siu lai lai [dream job] when I graduate next year. IS IT WRONG FOR ME TO ENJOY THE LAST THREE MONTHS OF DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!)

#9 Got ffk-ed about a mascot job cuz the employer is sexist and has a strict policy about mascot jobs being only for males. So I had to un-strike 'being a mascot' from my imaginary list of to-do things before I ugh... turn 100 years old

#10 Been one heck of a pilot since I've been flying many aeroplanes (from ffk-ing) Geddit geddit?? I should have my own airline.. preferably something like this

Sweden, Where Angels Are Born

OK I know I've been missing in action again. This is my field of expertise I can pretty much become a magician. A good one too, mind you. By the way, Selamat Hari Raya before I forget :)

If my memory doesn't fail me, I've yet to relate the story of the angel I met in Sweden. Really lor. How to find a person as good as he?!?! I now love all Scandinavians.

Story goes like this:

The transport system in Sweden is different. You cannot purchase tickets on the bus cuz it's their policy. You have to get them from the ticketing machine at the station or you can opt to buy a transport card which is similar to the Oyster Card that you use in London. But of course there isn't a point in getting a card if you're only staying for 2 days. Dunno la I can't remember why I didn't get that card. I only know, at that point, getting a card wasn't an option ok. Don't bombard me with questions *defensive*.

Anyway there we were trying to board the bus to get to the hotel. We didn't know where or how to get the tickets, you see. Long story short, a Good Samaritan, in this case, a Good Scandinavian (get the pun? Geddit? Geddit?) decided to help the lost tourists. He bought us tickets using his card and gave us directions to the hotel without expecting anything in return. (Where got people so good and kind and helpful and angelic one?) And although we ended up on a bus that was headed toward the opposite direction, he (currently) is the kindest person I have ever met in my entire life. :') <---- Sheds a very touched tear. May he be blessed wherever he is right now.

So we boarded the correct bus after getting off the wrong bus at the last stop. The bus driver happened to be the same one as before cuz he ugh knows magic. HAHAHA. Cuz he made a U-turn to go the opposite route. By the time we got off at the correct stop the driver even waved us goodbye.

In conclusion, I LOVE SWEDEN FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART.

Farewell Sweden (and all Her people), it certainly has been my pleasure to have visited you.

P.S.: Raya resolution: I must now become a better person like my angel in disguise.

Peak District, UK

Impromptu trip to Peak District the day before I left for home. Which is also the reason why I started packing in the middle of the night but this is just an excuse for my hatred for packing. And as a consequence, I brought home with me my laptop without its charger which makes it pretty much useless. Talk about excess baggage. Ugh.

Bonding with nature pics... Honestly I've never seen so much green in my life.

The villages were flooded to make way for the reservoir.

Malmo, Sweden

Pictures from Sweden! Only 8 pics cuz the internet back home sucks big time despite the hefty amount my dad pays every month. Slow die me. *stabs self with knife* I love the Scandinavians. Left my heart in Scandinavia (which is made up of Norway, Denmark and Sweden) although technically I've never been to Norway. The people are the best I've ever met I think these countries have zero crime. This is hospitality! Will blog about it next time :)

#1 Turning Torso- The tallest building in Sweden and Scandinavia at 190 metres

#2 Castle's windmill

#3 Malmohus Castle

#4 Casino Cosmopol

#5 View from Fersen's Bridge

#7 Lilla Torg- Your chilling spot and food heaven

#8 Swedish hotdogs... Man I had the best time eating Scandinavian hotdogs. They taste even better than the German bratwurst.

Everything about Malmo is serene. Definitely the place one can grow old gracefully.
